SYD: Bikes wanted for publicity at film screening

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Zebee Johnstone, Mar 9, 2006.

  1. THURSDAY 16 March (next Thur)
MEET: by 6pm at Moretons Hotel, Hickson Road, Sydney city west docks
    area
    DEPART: 6:15
    WHO: all bike types

    "Ride-By Film Shooting"

"A city sights ride" Depart 6:15 , a polite, steady ride, no rush,
obey all lights, signals, etc. Get there safe, get out safe.

North from pub, along Sussex, (possible radar/Police presence) under
Harbour Bridge, onto George, south past the Quay, left into Bridge Street,
left into Macquarie, very slow, very slow, downhill to Opera House,
bunch up, left onto west Circular Quay, slow and give exhaust salute
to any old Indians lounging around parked, continue, loop around block,
repeat salutes, then depart for dinner.

Official Premiere of "The World's Fastest Indian" is having it's press
event outside Dendy Opera Quays at this time. Make the News. We've had
quite a few free tickets to pre-launch screenings (e.g. Macquarie last
night arranged by Bikers Australia). It's a better than average movie,
a magic story of determination and fun, lots of feelgood and a bit
of insight to riding. The true story of a real man. It's about fast
motorcycles........might be old one, but the thinking hasn't changed.
    Gone by 7pm.

Moreton's Hotel is on Hickson Road, the piece of Sussex Street between
Napoleon and Erskine. There is street motorcycle specific parking in
    the same block.

On Thursday 16th, Moreton's will be doing dinner for us, "any menu
item for $10" - menu with variety and the quality is good. Excellent
beer garden. Review menu before departure.

Many will return after the ride to take advantage of this dinner deal
    and socialise.

Also, the film promoters have stumped up for us.
We'll have T-Shirts as giveaways. Only available at 6pm to
    participants.
    First in, best dressed
