Anyone go to the expo ??
While that is true (Homebush is near enough the geographic centre of Sydney, so I'm sure the anti-Sydney crew will agree with that statement) But that ain't true !! There was even parking for those cage type thingys if you had to. Ample bike parking (although I was sucked in and paid $5 for the bike parking when there was plenty of the free area left :-( JL
Yup, I was one of the guys shoving motorcycle awareness stickers in people's hands on the MCC of NSW stall (behind Yamaha and the Casson's accessories stall)

Preaching to the converted! Waste of money isn't it? Wouldn't it be better to spend the time handing those stickers to non-riders at non-motorcycling type events.. to actually increase motorcycle awareness in the community? Nev.. '04 CBR1100XX
In aus.motorcycles on Mon, 20 Nov 2006 14:56:18 +1100 No, because the stickers are designed to be put places. Will a non-rider put "look for motorcycles" on their car? Very unlikely. But one such sticker will be seen by a lot of non-riders if a rider sticks it on their car. Or on a topbox. Give them to non-riders the most likely place they'll see is the inside of the rubbish bin. Now, when are you coming to an MCC meeting to give us the benefit of your thoughts on what the MCC should do next and your help with it? That's not meant to be a snarky "piss off" tone, that's a "we need people who really want a difference made and have ideas about how to make it." And of course we would love it if such people were also willing to put in the work to do it, but that's less common. For example Nev, how would you word a questionnaire for politicians in the upcoming state election to get their views on bike issues like tolling, parking, and law changes to allow motorcycles to beat congestion? What questions would you ask, and how would you word multiple choice answers to give a wide range of views that would be honestly given? Is multiple choice the way to go, or would asking for statements be better? As a rider what policies do you want to know about most? What questions should be asked? Zebee
MCC meetings are a bit too much of a commute from my home in sunny Melbourne, and because they're the MCCofNSW and not the MCCofVic the outcomes are mostly of little direct consequence to me... but I give you express permission to print out all of the comments I have ever posted to ausmoto regarding the MCC and read them out at the meetings. You can even claim my ideas as your own if you wish. Nev.. '04 CBR1100XX
I was doing something similar at the Ulysses club stand. It got really busy from about 11am'ish Sunday on. David
I had parking, but some fuckwit on an Aprilia parked me in. So we picked his bike up and moved it. Al
Reams and reams of simplistic and repetitive drivel from a mindless, gutless fool ------------------------------------------------------- The collective posts of GB - usenet's answer to a rude contemptuous knob. ------------------------------------------------------------ I wrote you off as a screaming moron after the first one. Beats the hell out of being a clueless moron who can't communicate in English. What are you replying to, googlefool? One comment, moron: "This is a serious group, go to hell." There ain't a damn thing we can do about it, It sI Teh Law! Go read the Bill, go read the EM, come back when you've got a clue to your name. It's getting pretty seriously sad when Otter has to quote someone else out of context just to deliver what she thinks is something vaguely witty. You seriously need to lay off the American television TG's. Maybe you ought to consider strangling the hell out of yourself and that grossly excessive .sig file of yours. It is widely accepted that one should confine one's comments to areas about which one has some knowledge. Spam and policing are two areas about which you have no significant knowledge. Beats the hell out of being a clueless moron who can't communicate in English. It doesn't seem to matter if 'your' can't communicate in the Queen's English either, apparently. Yup, you're a reliable source of info, you are. Too late. I already decided that you were just plain stupid. -----------------------------------------------------------

We had the Guzzi man convince Marie to look at the Breva 1100 when she decides to replace the R1150R, won't be anytime soon though. The Breva would suit Maries needs pretty well by the looks of it. Didn't buy a thing, but spoke to a lot of people. It was the bikes down the centre that caused me the problem, he left no room for me to get the sidecar out. 125s don't weigh much luckily. Al
