[SYD (the NSW one)] Westlink M7 Toll

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Pisshead Pete, Feb 7, 2006.

  1. What's the go with this newfangled roundabout tour of Sydney? Are bikes free
or should I wait longer for the rip-off notice? Which way do the cameras
face and do I need to cover up my numberplate?

It didn't seem any quicker but saved a whole heap of gear changes. Bugger
all traffic. Bloke at the M2 toll waved me through saying, "save you the
hassle mate" which was just as well 'cause there's no fuckin' petrol and I
only just rolled up to the next available servo.

bikes get charged same as cars Pete

it is quicker depending on your destination - Castle Hill to Campbelltown
    (why?) in half an hour

exie road - would be advantageous to use it get to work but not at $60 a
    week............

They check your plate and send you the bill.

I think if you register with them it won't cost you an admin fee, at
the moment they say it won't cost an admin fee even if you don't
register but how long that will last, who knows. As the RTA charge
them $1.60 for your address info.

Front and rear firing cameras to see all plates, Boky was working on it late
last year. Motos get charged just the same as cars. Bastards!

just remember covered plate is worth 3 points and a few hundred bucks

if you get on at the beginning of the M2 now they have drive through
    gantries like on the M7
so no need to stop and no boom gates

They are putting the same gantries in at the Pennant Hills exit atm

  6. ....and fuckin' trucks. Double bastards! It'll be interesting to see if the
final bill is more than 200% the cost of the toll like Citylink. If that's
the cost of processing infrequent travellers then they can get fucked or put
a booth in. <--- insert BT joke

ck: To get to the other side! How's the traffic on the old roads, any better
    now?

Zebee: Between 1 and 3 dollars a month, from what I can figure, plus $0.75
matching fee on top of tolls, $6? (they don't seem to want to tell!).

And isn't Transurban tied up with Citylink as well? Bikes should be free!

    Damn extorsionists.

yeah, had to go to Mladin Imports and the journey was very quick indeed.

The old roads are no better for getting to work (downtown Wetherill Park) as
since the toll was introduced there has been a 50% drop in usage.

Having said that it takes 30-40 minutes to get from Castle Hill to the other
side of Seven Hills thanks to the constant fucking roadworks...............

    The M2 is what? 20 k's - ish and $3.80

20 k's on the M7 (and my work use would be 21.45k) is $6 hard to justify

had it been $35-38 a week in tolls I would consider it, but not @ $60

We travelled on it last night & B made the comment.

" They should put an LCD on the tag thingies to show you what you got
    charged!"

Now that would a great idea & you would know the cost of each
    journey/section as you go
