Hi there, I don¹t have my own bike, but I would love to passenger ride. Is
there anywhere I can go to meet really nice people who might be willing to
take a girl for a ride? Nothing freaky or anything like that, just nice
people with bikes and some extra generosity....

    Thanks for the help.

This is the link to the Dallas chapter of the SCRC.

I'm quite certain, if you show up at one of their meeting spots for a
chapter ride, you will be able to find a comfortable seat.

    Request a Valkyrie Interstate! <grin>

Thanks, I'll check it out. Appreciate the info, I have been in D/FW for
about 5 years now and haven't had too much luck finding someone to take me
for a ride...so maybe this might be the ticket.

Not a bad idea to try the groups, but you might want to also indicate
what type of riding you like to do? Have you ever been on a bike?

Someone suggested hitting one of the meetings. Probably a good idea.
Most bikers won't turn down a lady for a ride. ;-)

I like to take long rides out on country roads...other than that I don¹t
know what "TYPE" you mean. I have ridden in the past, as a passenger only,
on sport bikes. I thought about going to one of the meetings, but I think I
would feel a bit weird about going to a meeting and trying to bum a
ride...in my experience most people come to those either hooked up with a
passenger or prepared to ride solo.....

I am planning to ride to Sulphur Springs from Irving one day this week..
Seems that it is time for me to renew my supply of jeans.. I usually buy at
the Outlet in SS and usually take the back highways across Tawagoni and
Emory to get there.. If you would like, I'd be interested in the company..

That is kind of what I meant.... I ride a sport bike, too. Unless I
know I am going to have a passenger, I don't put my rear seat on.
And, I'm not real big on tooling around in the city just for the sake
of being on the bike and showing off. I may stop a bit to
re-hydrate, but stopping to grab a couple of brews is not my thing,
    either.

Most of where I ride is south / south-west of here (arlington) so I am
a bit of a ways from you. I'm betting, though, that there are plenty
of people on here that might give you a ride. Looks like several of
us keep talking about a ride out to PK and through that area so you
might be able to hook up with someone, then.

Right now, it's a bit warm out, but some of us are glutton for
    punishment. ;-) I'd offer up a seat on one condition...and I hate
to bring it up because it is often a "sensitive" subject with the
ladies..... but as long as you don't weigh as much or more than I do
I'd probably be willing to take you along. Nothing personal, I just
don't like the extra weight on the bike and being safe is always
    better than being sorry.

LOL - I don't know about that. I just get really tired of all the
political correct crap. We spend way too much time and effort on that
without focusing on the issues that are more important.

In any case, though, I really don't like riding two-up with a large
person on the back. In fact, I just won't do it. I don't care if you
are male or female. People who don't "drive" the bike don't
understand how much even a few pounds affects everything from
    accelerations, braking, turn-in, suspension, etc.

    I am ROTFLMAO smooth OFF..
Bubba.. I can tell you some real "horror" stories about some of the scrapes
I've had over the years .. Friend of mine caught me on the street one day
and wanted a favor.. His wife wanted to ride... if she liked it, she'd let
him get a bike..Should have been a clue for me right there.. When she
showed, the lady weighed 300 if she weighed fifty.. Should have heard the
suspension groan when she mounted my little 800 behind me.. Hell it took
both of us to get that lady mounted.. Needless to say, once around the block
and never shifted above second..He never did get that bike and I never
    "rode" his ol' lady again...LMAO..

LMAO. No way I would have done that. You start talking about that
kind of weight and you should be adjusting your pre-load big-time.
    That's hysterical.

Gee - I wonder why they never got the bike?

Speaking of two-up, though, has anyone noticed that one of the bike
rags occasionally prints a passenger's point of view? Kind of nifty
for those of you who have a regular passenger on your bike.

I think some of the newer touring bikes that have the "ez chairs" on
the back for the passengers are kind of cool. Bikes are a bit large
    for me, though.

When my neice was a senior in high school, she fit my bike like she
was made for it. I couldn't believe she wasn't more into motorcycles
    than she was.

Now that she's been in college for a couple/several years, she's put
on a few pounds and I doubt she'd fit as well. I'd still give her a
    ride if/whenever she'd ask though!
