Suspension parts are in demand as a lot of powervalves are being
    converted, can't remember if yours is a vj22 or vj21, if it's a vj22
    you're more likely to struggle.

  4. From another 13 y/o bike?

Similar thing happened to me 10 or so years ago. Bimbling merrily along,
indicated right, sat on the middle white line waiting for oncoming traffic
to clear when behind me, SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACH.

me... "He's not gonna hit me he's not gonna hit me he's not gonna hit me
shit he's gonna hit me" hit the throttle to pull away, too late, smash. Bike
was a write off. The force burst the piston through the engine casing and
god knows what other damage. I was catapulted 10 or 20 yards down the road,
but surprisingly unscathed. (Though I milked the insurance for whiplash, as
    you do).

Fuckin 4x4 driver with bullbars. As it was a crossroads and a car was
waiting to turn left on my left, the moron decided he "looked like he might
pull out in front of me" so decided to hit me rather than possibly hit the
car which may or may not pull out.

No damage to yourself in the incident, like a bang on the head ?
I would have thought it'd be
    RGV250 0 - 1 Fiesta

Or is it a case of "you should have seen the state of the other guy" ?

    Clumsy ****.
Don't need a back wheel & bodywork too?

My left shoulder tried to pop out of its socket when the bike jerked
forwards but didn't quite manage it, so it feels a bit sore but even now
it's had 24 hours to develop it's still moving OK and doesn't hurt too
much. If it plays up I'll head to the quack so it's at least on file.

One witness, bloke came straight over... "Are you alright? Do you want
my number as a witness? I saw it, there's no way it was your fault".

No sign of plod. Exchanged details, had a brief chat, if my shoulder
stays OK and the driver doesn't get silly about it, I doubt we'll even
    involve insurance.

I was amazed. On the RGV, the subframe looks ever-so-slightly wonky, the
suspension reservoir was left dangling (bodged back in place for now
with a cable tie from my pocket) and the ball on the end of the brake
    lever broke off.

On the Fiesta, well, it looked like she'd been playing chicken with a
    concrete bollard.

Since the damage to the bike is minimal, I don't seem to have any
significant injuries and the Fiesta driver's dad runs a bodyshop, I
suspect this may not end up going anywhere near insurance. And it gives
me an excuse to tart up the RGV with a Tyga bodykit. Must resist!

Wheel seems fine, likewise bodywork. Or, at least, I can't see any
damage that it didn't have before.

What model/age of Fiesta? When my Audi was also taken roughly from
behind by a Fiesta a couple of years back, the Audi sustained a
slightly scratched rear bumber. The Fiesta was a write-off.

2001. The one with the huge bulging plastic bumper.

Surely that's the problem of the Fiesta owner's insurance company?

About the same then - I think the one that got me was a '99. They
obviously made them of cheese during that era.

If it comes to that, sure.

I've got TPFT cover, so I'll have to deal with her insurers directly (or
via a ULR firm, anyway). More arse-ache. If we can sort it out for cash
then I can have a think about turning it into something like this:

You think I don't know that already?

The only thing (well, other than time, skill and money) that's stopped
me doing it before is that it's in pretty good condition for a stock
bike and it seemed a shame to dick about with a sound example of a
    modern classic.

But now it's got a scratch, well, game on!
    You're a true friend.

    Greenish, I think.

And yeah, very fit young indian bird. It was in Slough, after all.
Slightly hurty shoulder, otherwise fine. Doesn't appear to be anything
    serious.
