Heh, I was whooshed. I remember getting in to a complicated and
confused discussion about the founders of FIAT and wooly jumpers.

  3. It isn't. What is less intelligent is to say "there is no God" without
any qualification since (as Champ pointed out) there is no objective
    way of (dis)proving his existence.

I don't have any problem whatsoever with people saying "I don't believe
there is a God". I also don't have a problem with people saying "there
is no God" as long as they don't deride me for believing that there
is based on my faith since (from my viewpoint) their viewpoint is also
    based on faith.

So people who adopt the "There is a god" position are from the less
intelligent end of the religious spectrum?

    Amount raised now £63,385, £7837 in 3h 40m, ~£51k a day.

With that kind of income they could put nice atheist adverts on TV.

  9. How about Dawkins, he strikes me as rather evangelical.

Think about the things that you take on faith. It's not limited to a
    religious framework.

  12. No. Let me explain it as simply as I can:

Saying "I Believe in the (non-)existence of God" requires faith since it can't be
    logically[1] proved

Both facets are a statement of opinion which doesn't require (necessarily)
    a burden of proof.

Say "there is/isn't a God" is a statement of fact with no evidence since
the existence of God cannot be logically[1] proved.

Which is why I always try to say "I believe there is a God" (because I
    do).

  13. And having just re-read your reply (and my reply to yours) I've
realised that your initial point was correct after all. It is
inconsistent and my initial response *should* have been: yes - it is
    the less intelligent end.

I blame ISO 27001 for rotting my brain..

I am, though strictly speaking an agnostic. When do I get my "I already
