One wins the race and in the interview ( not the official one )he
congratulates the Australian on the Championship

One wins the Championship but in the interview he says nothing about the
    winner

btw: I much prefer the race winners wife :)

He's 21 years old and he just won the world fucking championship. The
race was between him and Rossi. Anything else is inconsequential.

Good sportsmanship still cuts the ice with me

And if the position was reversed I could imagine the harsh comments

Does the word hypocrite mean anything ?

Yeah but I would have thought the sportsmanship would be between
Stoner Rossi and Pedrosa - Capirossi neither helps Stoner (as with
most team mates in motogp I hasten to add) nor was he in contention
    for the title.
I'm not sure if I could see much in the way of harsh comments if it
    was reversed.
Dunno, how was he hypocritical ? Capirossi has been utterly irrelevant
    to Stoner from day one.

Nah, the race was won by Capirossi ( his teammate and fellow Duc rider ) so
he should have commented that it was won by another duc rider
    this is aus.motorcycles
    not Stoner but this group

The only real sportsmanship was shown by Hayden - stopping on the slow down
lap to congratulate Casey, while Rossi just rode on by.

Good grief, Will, you must be fairly old to remember "sportsmanship".

    regards,
CrazyCam (who also remembers the concept, but hasn't seen much of it
    for the last 40 years.)

Everyone can't be the first person to congratulate him.. and he didn't
make it easy for anyone by whizzing past most riders on one wheel on the
cooldown lap. Do you think that Stoner was unsportsmanlike because he
was too busy fiddling around with the Australian flag to properly
    acknowledge Hayden's gesture?

There was the case of the cricketer, not all that long ago, who said "I was
    out" when the umpire didn't.

Nah, not really - he shook hands with him and then Hayden went on his way

Rossi however did not even look across at Stoner

    ck

then again I bet he was pretty shattered, inevitable or not

Chris Vermeulen advocating the cancellation of the 2nd race at Imola in 2005
(and thus giving up his hope of the championship) comes close.

I noticed that too but maybe he'd already shook hands. I wasn't really
    paying attention.....

I am fucking old and thats why I ride an old mans bike

Last week his comments when he lost just amounted to excuses and sucked bug
time. I remember the time when if you lost you didnt make excuses, you just
congratulated the winner ( might have been through gritted teeth but ). I
guess its now know as been honest so following that I will say
"Ok, for some reason I dont like Stoner, nether have nether will but I dont
like Rossi either or Cappo ( but like his wife )"
