look on the plus side, becuase they're racing at a circuit where the
only people watching are sitting in the pits or operating the TV
cameras, they're able to postpone the race and run it 24hrs later and
noone is inconvenienced and no tickets to be refunded. Just hope that
monday is a public holiday everywhere in Europe, else they'll be
spending their siesta time watching tv.

If you were watching the scheduled telecast on Ch10 today, the first
thing they said was that the race had been rescheduled and gave the new
time, and repeated that a few times during/after the telecast of the
250cc race which they did show.
So... if you weren't watching it the first time around... why would you
    care?

Got up this morning at work, kept the TVs off, went home at 8am, stayed
off the net, put up with fuckin' golf running 40mins over just to find
out the race was cancelled. **** it. Hold the race somewhere else next
year so they can race in daylight, even if it does rain.

It'll be a handy 6pm in England and 7pm in Italy so should get plenty of
    viewers.

Qatar race is being telecast 0345hrs Tuesday April 14.

After the shortened rain affected 25o race was telecast this morning
(Monday morning) they advised that the main race was postponed until that
    time.

Would have been handy if Channel 10 had updated their TV guide.

Yep, half watched the golf go through playoffs overtime and the
Argentinian win a green jacket. I watched, and listened, to the start of
MotoGP telecast when they announced it is to be postponed so muted the
tele. I didn't hear them announce Ch10 would have it on again Tuesday
and the time. Had the picture in the background and don't pay much
attention. Yep, saw only bits of the 250's but didn't listen.

    Regarding your response:-
1.Watching with TV muted doesn't enable me to hear messages about
rescheduling. I did record it on the PC but I've deleted the file
(including the golf) since, and undeleting won't get it back for me now.
    2. I was asking after MotoGP, not 250's.
    3. It wasn't on the first time around, as you say, as it has been postponed!
    4. I am aware it has been postponed and rescheduled. I was asking about
Ch 10 broadcast not the race itself.
    5. In your book, only fans of 250's should be allowed to watch telecast
    of MotoGP?

Thanks Les. After avoiding all communications this morning and being
forced to watch the golf I'll be a lot happier to get up and watch the
    race in earlier time slot.
    Cheers,

The downside of the keyboard is it allows those with their foot in their
    mouth to still communicate.

I avoided radio & tv but had my video set to record while I went up to
    Safeways shopping.

When I returned home and put my shopping away, I fast forwarded past 40
mins. of golf to find the main race was postponed but at least I got to
watch a pretty decent though shortened 250 race.

Hoping for better luck for all, tomorrow.

Did you write all that just because i said "they said the race had been
rescheduled and gave the new time" and not "they said the race had been
rescheduled and gave the new time that Ch 10 would be showing the
telecast?" My apologies. If only you'd taken the TV off mute, eh.

    yea it was good

but what has me lost, the 125's had 4 laps before rain stops play -
    and they declare a winner?

They try to get 'em here because of the time diff between here and Europe and
television ratings. But Qatar is only 2-3hrs ahead of Europe. ie. 11pm is 8pm in
most parts of Europe. Or if it was held at the normal time at say, 1500hrs then
it'd be noon to one pm in Europe.

If it's to do with the temperature in Qatar, then it's no hotter than what it
gets in Europe during its summer. Google weather suggests that the max/min temps
    for this week is 31/21.

If the race is run at 9pm local, then it will be 6-7pm in Europe. So people can
watch it when they get home from work.
