Temporary speed limits

    I know JP said that the M25 variable limits are only turned on for an
    incident but sorry, I no longer believe that to be true.

    Yesterday as I came through them there were three separate occasions of
    just one sign being set to 50 with the following ones set to NSL.
    Nothing on the hard shoulder, no change in traffic conditions (other
    than the panic braking for the 50).

    A revenue-raising exercise, pure and simple.

    After what must be 18 months, the "temporary" 50 limit on the M62 is a thing
    of the past and the new section of road is pure magic. A short 130 the
    other night on absolutely pitch black tarmac while I trailed Plod who was on
    a mission was just what that road needed.
    I shudder to think how much revenue was raised on this section over the last
    8 months, but it must be fucking millions. There were camara's every mile or
    so, but the cunts moved them and along with the yellow camera's there were
    hundreds of other yellow signs, so the cam's were easily lost in the
    clutter.

    I reckon they paid for the road. Well partly anyroad.
