Nah, no need to go crazy.

Washed it, lubed the chain, then went and raided KFC.

You're moaning to a London resident about congestion, shitty roads and
having a crap route to somewhere more interesting?

Pardon me if my heart doesn't bleed for you!

just got in after a ride across Llangynidr Moor. It looked just like this:

The weather has been like that all weekend.

Same here. I've been a complete slob today - read in garden, lunch and
Easter Egg in garden, mow lawn, tea and hot-cross-buns in garden.

It takes me about half an hour to get out of town and (usually) an hour
of cross-town filtering and A-road thrashing to get to anywhere worth
    playing.

of the muck so got bucketful of soapy water onto it.

    Ah. You're right.

    <thinks>

Insert the following between the two.

"by claiming that the following would constitute a full days work and
completion thereof would entitle me to hot-cross-buns for tea and
champers and paella (just started on the former) for dinner with a
    provocatively dressed wife (my own)"

The man speaks the truth. The spring was seriously fucked and the
stand was barely staying in an upright position.

Have you ordered a new spring or are you just going to cable tie it up
and prop it against walls wherever you go?

You're very close to the A3 - get on that, off at Kingston, head over
towards Chessington, Dorking etc and then lots of decent roads. No more
than 30 mins from your gaff.

It was colder than I had thought. Still, warm enoough this afternoon for
me to pop out, 10 laps of Regent's Park and then home.
