OK - I completely mis-read your other post. Or rather, when you said
"square-section", for some reason I interpreted this as "flat bladed".

So, thinking about it again, isn't it just a 90deg screwdriver? i.e. a
    screwdriver with lottsa torque?

    like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-13948-Angle-Screwdriver-Set/dp/B0001K9PMI
    but on a penknife?

Interesting suggestion, and you could probably use it like that, but it
doesn't feel like that's what it's meant for. Seems an odd thing to put
on a screwdriver of that age (it's at least 56 years old, probably more).

ITYF that's a button hook for your boots.

    You could be right.

That would probably make it even older than I previously thought.

I have been wrong before, but I'm pretty sure on this.
    Late 19thC perhaps?

Definitely not. One of the blades has something about "his majesty".

I think it will have to wait until Chimay/*OSM.

Just back from the TT after returning a couple of days early. It sounded
great, certainly turns heads, even there. The 03 bike handles much better
though ;o( particularly 2 up. I shall reserve judgement until the MeZ1
tyres have been thrown away and something proper put on plus a bit of
twiddling. I spent one damp lap with Monz and Ben countersteering front end
slides, the road was pretty slick but the situation was still piss poor.
