    04 Triumph Bonnie SE,

One owner but a few rough bits, nothing serious

What should I check at the curb during the ride ?

  2. Oil leaks, oil leaks and oil leaks. ;-)

Why buy a modern Bonnie at all, is what I want to know. Sounds like a
Honda Super Dream, ridiculously underpowered, not very well equipped.
Looks OK. But a T'bird not only looks great, but actually goes well,
    too.

Thruxton. Played with a guy on one of them on a dodgy[1] autoroute
near Florence last year. Looked good, seemed to go pretty well too. We
were doing well over the ton and he wasn't struggling to keep up. Of
course, I wasn't actually trying but it was a bit of fun for a few
minutes until I got fed up, gave him a friendly[2] wave and pissed off
    into the distance :)

[1] More of a poorly surfaced, crumbling, winding road. Two lanes,
sure, but I got the impression it'd been built under il Duce and never
    resurfaced since.
    [2] No, really.

Theres one in the local shop, the all black version at a decent price
for cash thats why. Not many shops around here, well 1 so not a lot of
    choice really.

This may sound like the bleedin' obvious, but why not travel and buy
    from another shop?

I did a test ride a few years ago.

As TOG said, the T/Bird is much better.

Although the Sport version with the black engine isn't so bad.

well I did enjoy that, sounds like a superdream but was still fun, I
can look past the pipes, they can be changed.

Handling was good on the twisties around here, brakes worked well,
    bars need a little lifting.

Mmmm time to think, Had a good price offered on it by the shop, well
    below the Parkers guide
