Aw bless... I love the way they start off so naive and innocent. In
the <counts on fingers> 6 years or so that I've been here, newbies come
and go. The ones that go, usually disappear in a flurry of door
slamming, having 'stood up for themselves'. The ones that stay and
become regulars are the ones that are intelligent enough (quiet at the
back there) to see ukrm for what it actually is.

It's only usenet, stop getting so worked up. It's really not worth
having a coronary over.

No. Not at all. They come, they make an arse of themselves, they go.
Very occasionally they manage to settle in, more often they continue
to post objectionably for a while and just get in everyone's
killfiles, but most often they last for about a month before running
off to find a softer target.

If _you_ are civil to the group, they might just be prepared to listen
to you - at the moment you're moving rapidly into 'just being ignored'
territory.

You are unaware of some of the basics, for which, after a few days
breathing space, there will be no forgiveness. It's traditional for
test posts to b egreated with cries of scorn and "mine's a pint". It's
not acceptable for the tester to start whinging about such replies -
you really need to toughen up a bit and not overreact as you've been
doing so far.

Actually quite a few people care, otherwise you wouldn't have already tried

Look at my reply to your post, which was based on a long-running UKRM
meme - hardly antagonistic. Then look at your reply to me. Doesn't
really tally with what you say above, does it? And including a civil
apology when you knowingly ****-up doesn't make a blind bit of
difference: "I'm going to knock you off your bike now - sorry for the
inconvenience".

 

And he's now started the classic thing of responding to posts with
