I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you hit "reply by

It's entirely possible. You are using the newsreader of the
    unintelligent, after all.

Well, we might have to be a bit easy in this case.

I am informed that there is in fact no mention of test posts in either
the ffaq or the cbt and in his defence there have been no others
recently such that even a perfectly reasonable amount of lurking would
have had him educated in the matter.

Of course you can all start down the RFC route and good fucking manners
route but frankly I think that you would be wasting your time unless
you are part of the Killfile Klub in which case your efforts have
    already been noted.

www.zanziba.prodigynet.co.uk/Pictures amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
I'll have to check the dates but it's roughly one weekend in the middle
of September at/in a pub in a village near Derby.

Bring a tent, unless you booked a B&B or sleep in the car :)

Xana News seems to be quite a popular freebie newsreader in these parts.

    Worth Googling for.

If you must use Outlook Express, you could do worse than Googling for "OE
    Quotefix" whilst your at it.

It makes OE behave like a proper newsreader (sort of).

  18. Aha. Going on simple calibres, I thought that too. Turns out it's
bollocks, the AK round being a bit shorter than NATO 7.62. Can't recall
who it was in here put up the details, about a year ago.

    Er, not exactly right there.

The original Kalashnikov was a 7.62mm x 39mm round and the British Army
(L1A1) SLR was a 7.62mm x 51mm round. The _M14_ used the same round as
    the SLR (not the M16)

IIRC, the SLR could have used the Russian rounds but only by feeding
    them in one by one.

The newer version of the Kalasnikov is a 5.45mm x 39mm round and the
    M16 (and the British Army SA80) uses a 5.56mm x45mm round.

    So there. Wrong.
