  1. Three bottles of Chilean Casillero del Diablo and three of Argentine
    Mendoza Viognier for £23.

    Schlurp.

Why not more? Well, we're doing a shopping raid in Boulogne on Friday.

7 bottles of chateau neuf du pape, 13 of Wolf Blass yellow label, 7 of
"La chasse du pape" cotes du rhone, 7 of some Fitou or other. Came to a
little under 180 quid; less than 5.20 a bottle so not so bad, not a
staggeringly good price but good enough.

Am tempted to go to another for a few more of the cndp but I've got
about 50 bottles of decent (ish) wine in my office so that'll do for the
    moment.

As a break from the bulk hypermarket French plonk purchases I decided a
hit of 'Tempranillo' was overdue. Too pikey to pay top money and in too
much of a hurry so an acceptable 'Tinto' from Waitrose now open. Needs a
    bit more 'chambreing' yet.

Spooky. If you're on the 12.15 Seafrance sailing to Calais, then beyond
    spooky.

Seafrance goes on strike too often for me to trust the buggers any more.

Was it Seafrance that were on strike on Wednesday? The queue of hundreds
of lorries on the M20 was amazing.

I thought we were in trouble on the Frog side as we headed for Calais,
but the outside lane was open and we bimbled on down to the Tunnel in
    very good time.

I have been really lucky to date with serial SF usage. There was,
though, an impressive queue of HGVs at Calais coming back in October
though. Looked like a human cargo alert, lots of distinctly far eastern
types wandering along the hard shoulder and beacoup de Gendarmes in
    evidence.

Trying the tunnel for the first time for year on the [*!$£&] trip.
    Prolly break down or something.

  11. SeaFrance were on strike, yes, and as is their wont, they blockaded
Calais so everyone else could suffer, too[1]. Cunts.

[1] And so they couldn't swap their tickets for POSL, as detailed a few
    weeks ago.

Christ I wish the Frog government would grow a pair of balls and do
    something about them.

It's either that or wait for Seafrance to go bust and be replaced with
some nice cheap, hard-working Eastern European types.

You've got more chance of them taking the lead role in sorting out
    N.Korea.
It's probably the use of nice cheap labour that's pissed them off
    again.

Can you think of a more effective way to draw attention to their
grievances than to **** up Dover and Calais?

Well, if you weren't in the area, you wouldn't have known it was
happening. I was, and I have no fucking clue what their grievances are.

    So, yes.

The fact that they'd blockaded the port was mentioned numerous times
on UK radio so I'd be more than a bit surprised if it didn't get the
same amount of coverage over there. I can't for the life of me
remember what they were bitching about but it was certainly mentioned.
    Is it a secret?

Did the M20 closure reach the chunnel terminal?

Only worth using if you find wine that is not over priced to start with.

Its a new form of viral marketing, don't advertise it, send it to a few
    websites and "whoosh" extra business
