  1. I dunno. The town's nicer than Calais, I reckon.

  3. Not in Boulogne, no. There are a couple of places nearby that I want to
    try, mind.

I've never seen so many lorries in one place before as I did on the way
up the M20 this evening. Poor fuckers are going to be there for days.
Made the outbound trip a bit hairy, time-wise, and the resulting delays
    turned a nice relaxed(ish) afternoon shopping into a 3 1/2 hour dusk
    raid on Cite Europe.

700 euros and one very full shopping trolley. Oops.

  6. Heh. Exactly our experience. M25, M20, M2, crawling down country lanes,
nearly to Dover, then back up to the Tunnel.

And as you say, tens of miles of parked trucks. Amazing.
Heh. We trump you with 750 euros and two trollies.

Ah, We took the M25/M2/A2 route to Dover, delays weren't too bad (we got
there 15 minutes late) but the boat was already running an hour late by
that point (followed by another 45 minutes sitting just outside Calais
waiting for a berth). Radio Kent is fucking hilarious on Saturday
lunchtime. It's as if they round up all the retards in Ramsgate and give
them a phone that can only dial Radio Kent.

That was just Tesco. Went to Carrefour after that and found a good stock
    of Chimay...

God knows where I'll find the money to pay for turkey, tree and
    crackers!

Apropos Chimay, a colleague of mine has unearthed a beer shop near Old
Street that stocks oodles of Belgian beer. Including all three flavours
of Chimay. German beer selection is pants but I think I'll have to
    visit anyway...
