I remember the look on an American colleagues face when someone said to
him "I'm going outside for a fag, do you want to come with me?"

no, i mostly slid on my back luckily. i think the helmet is ok.
no - i only have TPFT. would they screw me over? there wasn't a lot i
could do (imo). i checked the pressures the pevious day, and had the
tyres checked and passed for the MOT one week previously.

I thought you would have replied with the "Elly and I on a Pan" gambit if it
is a pissing contest about least worn on a bike )

I'm glad you're okay. I hope the bike wasn't too damaged, either. Is
it back on the road yet?

Did 'crashing' hurt as much as you imagined it would?
Probably best not to mention it at all ever. You will lose any NCB
(not that you have any yet) but it will be taken into account next
    year when you renew.

    thanks mate

it's mostly scratched. needs a new rear tyre (obviously!) and i'll
change the front at the same time.

there's a patch f liquid underneath it in the drive now, so i'm
guessing something else is wrong unfortunately. it's actually a scooter
(px125), so the engine is lopsided and i think it ran along on the
    gearbox.

different i guess. i thought i'd be really scratched. some non-armoured
leather gloves which i was wearing (and first hit the ground with) are
absolutely fine. i was wearing a motorcycle cordura (sp?) jacket, which
is hardly blemished. however, my arms ache really badly. i went to the
doctor today and he said nothing is broken, just bruised muscle. i
stuck my arms out to break my fall, which is kind of impulsive, and
they absorbed a lot of energy.

anyway, happy to still be in one piece!
