MZ restored to health and happiness in short order (I would *never* have
found the fault) and sweller furnished with assorted Kawasaki bits and
honey items.

 

The suspense is killing me, what was the fault ?

 

Oh, right

Well, the timing had somehow gone *way* out, and no amount of fiddling
could re-set it. So Sweller looks at the points cam and says: "I am not
happy with that..." and it's removed, and lo and behold, there isn't
much of a key for it, and it's shifted on the end of the crank. So we
re-set it, bolt it up nice and tight, gap the points, reset the timing
and away it went.

There had been an earlier fuel glitch, but I'd sorted that one.

 

Yes. Auction timed to start at 7pm. I'm away next week, anyway, crewing
and flying hot air balloons in France.
