My K1100 had the ABS gubbins removed, but the computer is still there.

Looks like used ones sell for almost £300. Hmm....

There's a reason the ABS was removed, you know.

Fucked pumps because someone couldn't be arsed to change the brake
fluid regularly, would be my guess.

the pumps **** up even with regular fluid changes - wanky design IYAM.

I've had several cars with ABS. None of them specified annual fluid
changes. None of them packed up after 5 years.

Not that I GAF about the ABS as the brakes work fine without it.

Until you have to stamp on the brakes with all your might on almost
fresh crosshatching on a rainy night because some SMIDSY arsehole pulls
out straight in front of you.

The K1100 has a different design ABS and I've had several with working
ABS that lasted a lot longer than 5 years.

BTW, recommended brake fluid interval on cars is usually
annually/biannually to. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, especially in a
somewhat damp climate and that can/will corrode the brakes internally
    sooner or later.

I bet all of 'em specified biannual fluid changes - and the reservoir is
far better protected against the elements on a car than on a bike.

you're forgetting the golden rule that stuff I post on here if for /
my/ amusement, not yours or anyone else's.

FWIW the post you're denigrating still amuses me, but if I took the
time to explain why, it'd be neither amusing or a good use of anyone's
    awake-time.

I'm generally happy with my lot, despite the rubbish info the quacks
have been feeding me over the past few months, but at least Champ's
got his happy satisfactory and non-confrontational relationship
    situation to fall back on.
