Toot the TL out for a mini-blat and Knorty Knee down at the usual
    locale this morning.

Finding a nice gap in the traffic, I tipped it in - lovely... whoa -
felt like it was about to drop away there... OK, exit ahead, wonder if
I can get my left knee down on the exit (I can't usually)... oh yes,
    easy!

Then the back end spun up and the bike threw a leisurely slapper,
enough to hoike me out of the seat. Erk.

Not sure why it did that, though the back tyre has only got 100 fairly
upright miles on it, or maybe I was just ham fisted, or both.

It was the first time the TL's ever bitten back and I have to say it
was a surprisingly gentle and almost sinuous action, kind of a "I
could flick you off but I'm feeling really lazy" sort of thing.

Ho Hum. I *must* sort a track bike.

I *look* for that level of excitement with every ride (though I don't always
get it). I hate commuting on bikes unless it's a shite old bike - some SOBs
can scare the shit out of you at commuter speed.

Actually, yes, hmmmm, I should get a SOB.

TBH almost lowsiding, then damn nearly highsiding a bike inside twenty
seconds is not the kind of excitement I generally look for!

As to the cause, I've now realised that I'd ridden less than three
very gentle miles on a very cool day, so the tyres (207RRs) were
almost certainly too cold for such antics.

Tsk. Man of your experience should know better. Damn lucky it didn't
end in tears. Make a note, Young Pip.
