A 38-year-old motorcyclist with a broken pelvis dragged himself an
agonising one kilometre along a bush track in search of help in a
two-day ordeal following an accident near Brisbane.

The man, from the Ipswich suburb of Chuwar, had been trailbike riding
on four-wheel drive tracks in a forest about 25 km north of Gatton
when he hit a tree on Monday, said RACQ CareFlight crewman Garry
    Isakiewicz.

Despite a broken pelvis and possible internal bleeding he survived for
two days until two other trailbike riders found him dehydrated and
lying in a ditch shortly after 9am (AEST) today.

"He said he hit a tree on Monday at lunchtime and said he crawled
about a kilometre along a track," Mr Isakiewicz said.

"He had a broken pelvis and maybe some internal injuries but all his
signs and symptoms like his blood pressure were quite good," he said.

"He was conscious and said he wasn't knocked out during his ordeal."

The rider has been airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in
    Brisbane in a stable condition.

A spokesman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man had
survived the ordeal due to his physical fitness and a bottle of water.
