Indeed I have, but that's only coz it's been pissing down and I've been
stuck inside waiting for a fucking builder.

They only had to fly alongside a Russian bomber to make them turn away. It
    was all a game.
I know and we don't seem to have moved on *that* much.

Beav was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
He's probably in the same pub as the courier and the gardener I've
    recently been waiting for.

    The barstewards.

Nine months and counting. The **** keeps coming doing a bit here and a bit
there and he's reached the point where he's "almost" finished, but that
could mean the times between visits just gets longer.

I got my money back off him though, so the job will be a freebie when it's
    done.
An understatement when referring to my barsteward.

All E-Types are softies to drive, for sheer exhilaration and being
scared out of your skin whenever the brakes or steering are needed you
    should try an XK120 Roadster.

    I had an XK120.[1] Twin track[2]

    [1]Actually, eight of them.
[2]They do a good 'stoppie', tad unnerving if a chap's not expecting it.

Scimitars had a 4.2L Jaguar engine, which first made an appearance in
the 1964 series 1 E-Type and was latterly used in the XJ Series. The
XK120 used the earlier 3.4L engine, which some regard as being smoother
    and sweeter.

Yeah? It wouldn't do 50+mph cross country though, well, not for long anyway.
Out of interest, where did the extra capacity come from altering the stroke
    or a bore-out?

I knew the 3.4 was 83mm, but had to check on the 4.2 figure. I did know
they shared the same crank also.

See, I didn't know that. When we got them, the word was 'based on the XK120
    engine'.
After 30 years it is apparent that only 'XK120' stuck.

    Ta.
