I've been to some shit parts of the World where I didn't fancy going
out of the hotel after dark but I never thought I'd be told not to go
out because it was too risky at 4pm in a British city centre.

Leicester city centre, Jarvis Ramada hotel, rioting in the street.
Apparently there was an EDL protest taking place where the usual
suspects were complaining about the rise in Muslim extremism and
fairly obviously the local Asian community objected.

We walked back through the centre to the hotel at about 10:30 last
night and it seemed almost deserted so obviously the local binge
drinkers had decided that plod would have been working all day and
wouldn't be available to be wound up.

Living in Bradford, that kind a thing is ten a penny :(

Main reason we go to Leeds, not Bradford.

Fucking idiots. Apparently they were throwing fireworks at police
horses too, shame a few didn't stamp on their heads by accident.

Whats the hotel like? I've never been in it until 3 weeks ago, we've
booked a dinner and room for next April there.
Hey, I was just up the road.
I didnt see any of these knobheads, but I was told there was a big bunch
of skinheads around the centre of town on Friday night causing trouble,
so it seems some were up for the weekend. I was at the Hind, opposite
the rail station, seeing a reggae band (who played really well, but boy,
    is reggae boring).
Apparently these EDL tossers are mainly from London environs and Essex,
and have a few day trips around the Country each year just to cause
    trouble.

I dont agree with the antis much either, if they'd left the EDL alone,
then nothing would have happened, and no-one would have taken much
notice of the EDL, but being as both sides turned up, there was bound to
    be trouble.
It's like the drunk outside the pub, looking for a fight - "who you
looking at?", if you ignore him, he generally goes away eventually, but
if you confront him, he wants a fight.

    I've told this before.

I've been to Leeds once. In the first half hour, I saw 2 fights and was
    propositioned by a whore.

the hotel building is a glorious building, apparently a very old
    hotel.

staff were nice, room was nice, if a bit small.

food in the bar was good (especially the cheesecake) but pricey.
