  1. Over in es.ch.m our tame dago is currently having a handbag fight with
one of his buddies over the use of the word "****".

    Incredible.

  2. Yup. And he's being accused of suggesting that ukrm is some sort of
    reference of correct English.

Surely they're not trying to argue against a proven fact?

I had to laugh when last year, I did Raymond Chandler's _Tell The_
_Women We're Going_ with my fourth years. The story has one occurrence
of the word '****', and after consultation with my colleagues, it was
decided to Tippex that word out when I was photocopying the text. In
the event, we didn't get far enough into the story during the first
    period, to reach that word.

Thing is, one girl was off (let's call her 'M'), and she came to see me
in the staffroom before the next class, to remind me that she wouldn't
have a copy of the short story. Unfortunately, I'd taken 'her' copy
home with me, and now only had the original book in my locker. 'Oh,
yeah,' I replied. 'No worries, I'll do you another copy'.

Forgetting, of course, to Tippex out the word '****' in her copy.

Into class, and we get to this word, which I'd Tippexed out. Needless
to say, they were all 'go on, Sir .. tell us, what's the word, oh go
on!' and I'm like, 'no way.. you can see it when you're older'.

Amidst this cacophony, 'M' looks up and with an expression of utter
glee, screams at the top of her voice, '****!!'

    *chuckle*

'still makes me laugh, that one.

Not exactly, re-read that "in the UKRM context **** means whatever 99.9% of
    the times".
    Heh.

    tame
    adj. tam·er, tam·est
    1. Brought from wildness into a domesticated or tractable state.

Heh, I want to be there and see it, the day you get back to the UK and
complain at the pub, for having not San Miguel and olives ;-)
