He'll never live that one down. I think he was trying to slip the
clutch and bring the front up a little but instead slid the rear out a
bit, wobble wobble, oh dear, what do I do now? Bang...

    Numpty

I saw a guy on a moped two days ago oggle a young bit of skirt and rode
straight into the kerb, he managed to stay on the thing, but the look
in his eyes was a picture of terror. One born every minute.

Bear's already said it. Leathers, gloves, lid all look new,
perhaps his first go on the ex-machine. Road position all wrong,
too busy posing, snatches a fist-full of revs at low speed and
isn't sure what to do with all the horses. Rider appears to think
he could stop whereas a bit more power and he might have made it
round. But he flies perfectly, slightly arched, not too rigid,
rolls with the landing. Hopefully it looked worse than it was and
    he didn't break much.

Ok, look at it this way:

These guys have been on here for years (And years) and the regulars have a
set way of doing things (Ok, so you worked that out.).

It can be hard to come to terms with the way they carry on; and, the off
topic nature of a lot of the posts.

However, it's actually quite amusing once you get into the swing of things
because A: People regularly turn up and get flamed away and B: Some of the
    regs are actually quite funny.

Nothing wrong with his road position for a country where people drive
    on the right.

He was taking a lefthand bend and was over to the right for best view.
If you subscribe to the IAM way of doing things, anyway.

    Ben scribbled:
If you look at the rev counter he drops it a gear and gasses it just
    before the bridge.

A case of too much gas, back end sliding, rider couldn't handle it and
whilst trying to stay on ended up heading for the wall ?

Yeah, that's my take on it as well. Back end stepped a little causing
a minor tank slapper and he ended up going in a straight line.

    Road positioning was fine though.

I reckon he fixated on the sign - you can see he's heading straight for it
    :)

I subscribe to the 'Stay Alive' way of doing things which advises
keeping out of the moped lane as much as necessary. Best view yes
but too wide for the slightest margin of error if you've
misjudged, as the clip shows. The rider looked to be more
concerned with making room for the camera bike, taking the bend
two abreast. He "froze" and closed the throttle, reducing the
tightness of the turn and encouraging the bike to stand up.
Running wide he stood little chance of correcting his mistake.

Having obtained the best view (and judged it safe from risk of
'decapitation') he should have been taking a line across the bend
near the centre line. At low speeds like he was traveling using
the width of the road also discourages twats in cages from
attempting to pass on bends, seemingly oblivious to the
    consequences.

I think he was actually attempting suicide.
He was aiming for the 400ft gorge(1) on the other side of the bridge.
He came very close to making it, I'd award an 8/10 for effort but 4/10 for
    execution.

We do indeed see him cogging down one and the revs seem to be about
7k, but if you look at the left foot as it comes into shot just before
the wobble starts, you'll see he's knocked it down _another_ gear. I
suspect that he momentarily[1] locked the wheel as he let the clutch
out without matching revs, rather than giving it extra gas. Either way
    it's clearly rider error.

[1] In the correct use of the word. As opposed to google groups[2]
that gives the message 'your message will appear momentarily'. ****
that, I want it to stay ther, TYVM.
[2] Wot I'm having to use from home atm.
