  4. Poking around! Don't we all?
Well now, you've found me out. I confess, I've been ogling Beemers.

But not an R1100S, FFS. Bloody electric tractors.

Nah, something far more genteel. An R1000R Mystic circa 1995 and if
someone can find me a real nice one in original cond with low Ks I'd
pay money for it.....well, if I had money.

Been ogling the new Speed triple too.

    Kind regards

  7. ??

From memory they had R1000 on the side covers. That's 1000ccs.
    .....or was it just "1000"?

Moike or one of the Beemerphiles will correct me if I'm wrong.

    Kind regards

    It's actually r100r
BMW had funny names like r90s which was a 900 cc
    r100rs which is 1000cc
They saw the light when thbey developed the oilheads and gave them more
    appropriate names like r1100s/gs/rt/etc etc.

What, so they figured they'd just do it in centilitres, since that
    was different again?

(I reckon they were just running low on zeros)
