Passed the test, got the bike, got the gear, booked th advanced training,
just need the "miserable bleeding git" attitude... Pip where did you get
    yours?

Is it considered adviseable to pass test and get advanced training in a
    short space of time?

Something inside my head suggests getting some miles under the belt and
    then going the advanced route.

That'll help install the miserable git attitude, too.

Good point, wrong term really, I am taking "additional training" rather than
advanced training to help me improve, along with putting in some miles, got
to be a good thing don't you agree?

  6. It's unlikely to be a bad thing, but it could be a waste of money.
You don't necessairly know how to improve until you know what's in need
    of improvement. Nothing beats experience.

    Where do you live?

    Become a despatch rider for a few weeks, honestly, that's all it takes;
not only will you get some "traditional training" but you'll develop the
miserable git attitude in next to no time :)

Cost is minimal because it's a club, you know the sort of thing, IAM
observer associate and what have you
Nah, I'm pretty sure I'm crap at everything

    Nothing beats experience.
    Except a bad experience :)

    Hell, yes.

The Dodgaah will know well that this one is well suited to the IAM.

See, now until I had my third mid life crisis a couple of years ago I
was in the training business and we always used to reckon that you need
a bit of time for consolidation of what you learnt the first time before
you come back for a second.
No such thing as bad experience. Good, bad or indifferent, they are all
    learning opportunities.

Get some miles on your CV and then think about spending some dosh on
selected areas, if you feel you still need it.

Give it time man. Many of us around here have literally man years of
experience on bikes and still do really silly things, like stop and
forget to put our feet down.

Heh, I did just that once when I filled up with petrol. I sat on the
bike to fill up (as you do) and forgot to put the side stand down before
    I got off.

    Oh how I laughed.
