The aftermarket?

(RayRay)Blank says the aftermarket is driving the MIC deal. I say he's
full of sh*t as a Christmas Turkey...
(doncha' jus luv it when some fat-cat pisses in your boot and says it's
    rainin'.)

I found these parts especially funny, err, interesting..

ÒThe reason something came out of the MIC is something came out of the
    aftermarket,Ó Blank said.

Now, does anyone actually believe the "aftermarket" is driving MIC to
seek someone to counter DMG? If so, I still have some waterfront
    property for sale..

ÒThe MIC is not just four, five, six guys who sit around and harrumph
in leather chairs with brandy and cigars in hand. ItÕs 300 companies.
And everybody is saying to President Buche, ÔWhatÕs going on? What are
we going to do?Õ And thatÕs what has caused Tim (Buche) to make the
    release that heÕs got there.Ó

    "Everybody?"

    No RayRay, apparently it's only 2, or 3 OEM's, Jap one's at that. I
dunno 'bout anyone else, but I find it a little odd that neither
Ducati, or BMW knew anything about this and weren't even notified, much
    less asked for input..

But it gets better and it seems after month's of not saying anything,
or joining in the rules process after being asked, now RayRay wants to
    talk?

Though no meetings are planned, and Edmondson said last Thursday that
he was proceeding with the 2009 rulebook, Blank said he and his
colleagues would meet with Edmondson, "if he wanted to. I mean, IÕve
    never said no."

No, RayRay you went out of your way not to say anything, though now
just after just saying it's "almost too late," you say it's time to
talk? WTF is up with that?
Heh, here's a tip, if you're gonna start out with more bullshit it's
prolly best just to say goodnight and maybe we'll see you in '10..

Bottom line? The cards were dealt, bet's made and now it's call time.
Big Red and Kaw need to either get in, or go away, hangin' around
cryin' like Mladin and Yosh serves little purpose other than to stir a
    mostly empty pot..

I dunno for sure, but this MIC thing is looking more like an act of
desperation, or a last gasp than anything else, but we'll see..

There's no question that the announcement is the result of the three
OEMs meeting at MIC and giving some sort of approval to moving forward
with this notion. But to say that there is no one else interested in a
professional SB series outside of whatever DMG is doing isn't so
obvious, is it? Unless you have personally contacted all 300 MIC
members, I don't know how you can claim that only 2 or 3 (again you
remain in denial over Kawasaki's involvement, even thought that's
pretty well documented) bike OEMs are involved. Remember that DMG was
requiring homologation, affordable pricing, general availability, and
contingencies on aftermarket parts as well as the bikes, so there is
very good reason for some of the aftermarket to not be too excited
about that prospect. And then there's Dunlop as well, who aren't that
happy with the whole spec tire thing.

And "Jap ones at that"? Playing that NASCAR race card, eh, Tom?
Why? Do they now take direct part in the AMA series? Do they sponsor
any races? Had either given any strong indications that they intend to
race factory-supported SBs here? Has BMW made any statement at all
about this business? The reality is right now there isn't any European
manufacturer that is a player in professional racing in this country,
and there is no indication that the MIC sought out anyone related to
this matter, other than the Japanese OEMs, who have clearly been a DMG
target and who have said things publicly that indicate that they're
not that happy with their stewardship of racing here.
"Joining in the rules process after being asked"? What are you talking
about? I know DMG says they asked for input at some point, after the
whole literbike blowup, and I thought Honda supplied that, only Suzuki
didn't. Of course we don't really know what happened, because the only
thing we have to rely on is what Edmondson says, and his credibility
    is in serious question...
Where does he say anything close to, "It's time to talk"? Sounds to me
like he's saying any discussion is in DMG's hands, as they've had
little interest in talking to this point.
Desperation in the sense that DMG's series isn't doing much for a
significant element of the professional racing community in this
country, and those folks feel like something needs to be done, there
needs to be an alternative. Has anyone come out in open support of DMG
yet? Not that I can recall, other than Michelin on the spec tire thing
    (again, a non-player currently).

But of course you continue to belittle and condemn anything that
appears in opposition to your Daytona boys, no interest at all in
actually discussing events on their merit...
