The big deal weather

Any Ft Worth/Dallas'ers remember Porter Randall? He used to do the news,
sports, and weather and make you believe it.

I see where all the local TV channels now have at least 2 weatherpeople
during the weather, plus 3 or 4 reporters out on a bridge somewhere to
confirm conditions.

Together they are able to originate some of those whatca call'm terms. Some
I heard on one bite -

Holding steady, moving traffic, liquid rain, if below freezing ice will
form, liquid regular rain, watching the weather, re-freeze .....

Send them a e-mail and ask what the difference is between liquid
rain..liquid regular rain and liquid irregular rain. Reporting the news
must have a high profit margin to afford all those people just to prove
that theres some ice out there somewhere.

You should see Abilene TV weather. They are all kids and I can hardly
understand a word they say. I think it's all the teeth they are having to
talk around.

We've been getting solid rain. I think some folks call that "sleet".

I got a frantic call from a customer this morning. The heater in her kennel
had stopped running and all her puppies were freezing cold. I helped Joe
scrape ice off the truck windows and he drove over to her place, with a
replacement motor. He was back in about an hour, so I called her to let her
know that the heater was now working. Gotta keep those itty bitty puppies
happy.

Like those little pups, y'all stay warm and safe.

 

I've also heard her claim here while back that rain was coming down inside
sheets. How does that work?
However I have to agree Becky along with Finfrock put on a commendable
forecast.

I wish we would here Morgan Kanes version of the weather, from his
Australian Gazette source, that he depends upon, for Texas news and
weather. I'd like to hear how they describe rain and stuff.
