The Character Of This Newsgroup

This Mark N vs. everybody (Pablo in particular) stuff is threatening to turn
nasty. I love this newsgroup, in part because there isn't any of the petty
bickering and name-calling that goes on elsewhere. On the whole, everyone's
contributions are thoughtfull and interesting, regardless of whether I agree
or disagree with the poster. I encourage everyone to continue to keep it
civil. I'd hate to see this place take on the character of
rec.autos.sport.indy with their Mac-Pagan war.

Apologies for introducing that, I really do try to keep my cool more
effectively going forward. At the end of the day, it is the different
opinions that make discussions entertaining. If we all sad around nodding
"yeah, right" it would make for a rather boring newsgroup... I do think Mark
and I are trying to deal with each other more constructively over the very
last few exchanges, and here's my apologies to him if I have lost it
somewhat on occasion.
