Microwave whatever part has the RFID tag in it for 5 seconds or more,
and ooops, it must be broken! Much less conspicuous.

I was confronted with a load of these in the car a day or so back and
now work on the principle that as I can't do a sensible 60-ish I'm no
    worse off at 75.

The risk of a traffic plod or two, or a safety camera "crew" being executed
by the road side has gone back up to 1980's levels.

    No really, it has.

How much smaller is it than standard? I'm not talking about sensibly
trimmed ones, I'm talking about illegible or inaccurate ones since I'm
assuming that's what TOG was referring to.

    A lot smaller
In which case you should have said that, rather than "smaller plates".

You're right of course. I must've forgotten where I was posting for a
    moment.

I don't really mind with those B roads, because they're the ones that
really should be restricted for safety.

....a fine example of why the whole bollocks about exceeding the speed
limit being weally, weally, dangewous is in itself so fucking dangerous...

Who promised you that you would be able to safely do the speed limit down
    any given road?

Please explain how NSL is safe on a singletrack B-road? With 6 foot
    hedges and continual blind bends?

an increasing trend round my way is for cars not to have a front
number plate fitted properly at all, and instead to have it sitting on
the dash, presumably with the intention that as it's at an oblique
angle/inside a piece of glass, that it's not capturable on speed
cameras (I've no idea whether this would actually work, mind).

How many safety camera crews were executed by the road side during the
    1980s?

Frankly, I've always treated any road where I thought I could get away
with it as having no speed limit whatsoever.

And I still blame Adie for my one and only biking speeding conviction
    [1]

[1] I did also get done once in the car, for 43 in a 30 (in the middle
of a fucking Industrial estate on a Sunday, with no other cars/people
except the cops within 1/4 of a mile)

V's Focus wasn't fun, it was four-wheeled narcolepsy.

never drive one. In fact, IIRC, I've not driven a Ford car at all
since the Mark II Fiesta Popular Plus 1.0 I owned back in the late
'80s. This is a fact I'm mildly proud off, let down only by the fact
that I have driven several Fiats and a Vauxhall since then.
