Not all B roads are like that.

You want to be having a little chat with your driving instructor if he
promised the speed limit would always be safe and appropriate.

You want to stop being such a patronising arsehole.

Indeed. I've cruised at about the ton on single-track in Scotland,
    admittedly in a car.

I used to regularly nail my 306 at 120 up and down the B-road from
Hawkhurst to Sedlescombe when I was using it for commuting.

    I'm dead now, mind.

<shrug> I'm not the one who's suggesting the law should be changed to
compensate for his own misguided expectations.

Do we really need the state to dictate to us exactly what is and what isn't
    safe all the time?

I don't know about you, but I tend to ride / drive at speeds I consider to
be appropriate for the road and conditions at the time I happen to be
travelling along them, and not bang on the limit because 'it told me I could
do 50, so it must be safe'.

Personally I would rather they'd stop looking to control us by way of dumbed
down speed limits in the name of 'safety', and instead concentrated on
weeding out the more oblivious to their surroundings which are out there and
almost certainly to blame for a high proportion of accidents.

Quite right too... I mean, every single person in here who has ever broken
the speed limit has been maimed / killed as a result, haven't they.
