Ah well, time to take the B33 for MOT.

Very pretty. Immediately struck by the lack of shrouds on rear
    suspension units, though.

It's somewhat cleaner than my old B31, AKA The Torrey Canyon

Took an age to load your pic though - 1201 KB - which I played with and
    reduced to 18 KB...

I may have to modify a Royal Enfield one to fit.

Funnily enough, I just put a new pair of shrouded units on my "off road"
    B31.
I may have to swap 'em over - there again, I do rather like naked shocks
    [1].

[1] NO - not that sort.

That is nice. A good balance of restoration and improvement by the looks
    of it.

The idea is . . . ride it. As often as possible.

That was the plan. I dare say the BSA purists will be screaming, but I want
    to use the thing.
Halogen lights - belt drive primary - indicators - longer stroke crank and
as much stainless steel as I can get away with - wheel rims, mudguards -
chainguard ( a lovely one off made by a friend in the bike club ) - spokes
and just about all the nuts and bolts. I always wanted a swing arm,
alternator, BSA B33, and now I've got one. I only hope it can live up to my
    expectations.

Sadly, my fellow road users these days only have eyes for the orange
flashing light. They ain't got a clue what hand signals are all about,
besides, you can't see hand signals at night.

btw . You still interested in repossession of this 'ere MZ thingy ?

Hmm - that mirror does look huge in that piccy. It doesn't look so bad in
real life. I would like a decent bar-end mirror but I tend to keep hitting
'em on the garage wall - or on other vehicles. The seat is actually smaller
and narrower than a bog standard BSA item.

Well, I paid £280, or summat like that, for it. It's been re-wired, Jap
switch gear, new battery & flasher unit, handlebars changed, new brake line
    .. . . . oh sod it. Make it £ 300 :)

Funnily enough, I've been out on the MZ today. It was a choice between that
    and the Drifter.

I think a round (& possibly chrome) one would look much better, but eye
of the beholder & all that.

  20. Sounds like a bargain. You'd get more than that on eBay.
