If you e-mail Herr Huhr-Huhr and ask I'm sure he'll know. I also like the
    copyright notice.

  6. The EU plan to impose strict bans on the use of of all right hand drive
    vehicles in mainland Europe.

The motivation for such unruly legislation is, as yet, unconfirmed. However
rumours suggest that it could be linked to the difficulty British drivers
have encountered when trying to pay toll roads.

Made up by BMW (UK) 1 April, 2005

I think the last link explains it all ...

I nearly missed the one at the top - "BMW - The Ultimate Driving
Machine". How do they think of this stuff? Nice job BMW.

My favourite one from them was the year they published an "advert" saying
that the UK had been flooded with fake BMWs and the only way to tell if your
was a fake was to look at the badge. They showed their badge with the blue
and white reversed as the genuine badge and their genuine badge as the fake
    one.

I often wondered how many they caught with that one. I think I liked it
just because it was slightly cynical seeing as how many of their customers
    buy just for the badge.

It's not my bloody fault - I didn't buy a newspaper until lunchtime,
and saw the full page ad that BMW had put in it.

Dissappointingly, I can't find an April Fool's Day story in The
Independant. Unless it's the one that Jamie Oliver is to be the Tory
candidate for Arundel. Nowadays, I think politics is well beyond
    satire.

    <Women are grumpier than men>

Well, that was part of the British Psychological Society conference,
and was also reported in the Times, so I don't think that's it.
    Nope, I don't think so.

Neither of them are funny in anyway, and don't have the normal
signature of an April Fool's story, which goes like this, I think:
    - silly proposition
    - backup up proposition with believable back story/evidence
    - finish story with a couple of giveaway clues.

    1. <pedant mode> ityf it's 1:00 noon

    2. I never understood the 12 o'clock rule. When I was young April
fool's day lasted all day. It seemed to me that the noon rule was
invented by people who didn't like being caught out all day.

I mean, some jokes take a while to run their course.

Oh, come on: if you're going to be a pedant you could at least get it
right. Noon is 12 o'clock, midday. Not a second earlier, not a second
later. "1:00 noon" is just nonsense.
You're just sore because you didn't think of anything in time.
    Start them a little earlier.
