about the snow is seemingly the credit crisis is over as the media seem to
    have forgotten all about it.

Same happened when the Gaza conflict kicked off. Although I fully
accept we have some serious problems to deal with I'm convinced the
media are making it far worse.

Precisely, we've been talked into this depth of situation.

Rolling 24 hour news has to fill the schedule with something but I
reckon a couple of positive headlines would have a big effect.

I also think that lost of folk are beginning to realise this.

There are two issues at play: a failure of the credit market due to
historical cockups; and a massive drop in economic activity because
people are shit-scared of spending what money they currently have.

The former can be blamed squarely on the banks. The latter on the media.

Yeah. The snow is just media hype too.
Clear blue skies and sunshine here in Scunthorpe...

Here in the Royal County, we've had clear blue sky now for most of the
morning, but twice so far it has clouded over, snowed fairly heavily
for 10 minutes, and then cleared again.

    Weird weather.

Call me weird, but what sort of person has the idea to let a bird with such
kitsch fingernails hold a gold bar for a photo shooting? And who chose that
    pic for the article?

Our Metro (Liverpool edition) today reported that travel websites
suffered under increased load (more checking of weather), which added
    to the general chaos.

They should see real chaos - its a bit more than traffic caused by a
    bit of snow.
