I've added the point at which the E6 crosses the arctic circle to my
    map.

    Indeed, but a splendid one.

That's pretty much the image I had, except with Alex trying to clamber
inside like some kind of rogue marsupial.

I was just about to add a comment to your previous post saying that
they were 10K away from the E6 [1] but I see you've got it now.
they're assuming that they'll be a bit quicker on that road tomorrow.

[1] or whatever road it was

Westerheim / Kvikne happens to be roughly at the highest point of one of
the mountain passes dividing southern from min Norway. The altitude
(although not very extreme) probably explains the white-out conditions
    they experienced.

The next significant mountain pass[1] is where the arctic circle crosses
their route. It would be worthwhile watching the weather forecast for
when they plan to cross the arctic circle, todays traffic over that pass
was by convoy due to rough weather.

I guessed with the first attempt, but then realised I could grab the
co-ordinates from a Seesmic post - well done Sweller for switching on
the 'location' setting or whatever. No doubt he can disable it should it
    be considered too informative.
