It does work lovely, although I've not had to plug it in yet. I've only had the grips on minimum so far.

Army surplus gear rocks, loves fucking oil though.

Actually I'm very disappointed not to be there.
I'm pretty sure the circulation in my hands/feet isn't up to it any more, so
if the electrics failed I'd be in serious trouble.
OTOH I expect others are relieved not to have Moi and an Outfit tagging
    along.

Urm, stuck? Did you not know who your traveling companions would be
before you signed up for this adventure? It's one thing to be thrust
into a journey to hell and back by a twist of fate, quite another to
voluntarily plan for it and choose to do it with a bunch of cra^h^h^h
known, shall we say, "interesting" cohorts. It's OK. It would be
amazing if there weren't a bit of unhinging under the circumstances.

Ditto, get over it. This is ukrm, we are going to rip the piss... Do
you really think we're not behind you and wanting you not to succeed?
Cmon, get a fucking grip ffs... Good luck and stop being a prat...

AONTL. I'd would have loved to have done something like that. But I've got
too many other things in life that need dealing with atm.

The locations are very approximate, but if they tweet a place name I can
find on Google Maps I'll push a pin in the map with a photo link if
there is one. No way of linking to specific tweets AFAIK, though I may
start copying and pasting the text verbatim as the GM info bubble can
support most valid HTML, including, I'm pleased to see, embedded video.

I'd love to do something like that, but truth be known I don't have the
bollocks to. I'm fucking glad that lot are though and hope they make it
as far as it's possible to go.

  14. I think they are totally fucking mad. I really don't see the point in a
trip which involves heading north as the primary reason behind it.

The point is to camp inside the arctic circle and see the northern
    lights.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even
though checkered by failure…than to rank with those poor spirits who
neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in a grey
    twilight
that knows not victory nor defeat."

  16. Yes and?

I really do think that when humanity left the desert made it as far as the
northern Mediterranean it was doing the sensible thing but when it carried
on going north it was a step backwards in evolutionary terms but then
again my blood is chemically thinned and I may have a slightly different
    view than others.

To be fair I think at this point they were meant to be in their own
individual and cost-free shoe boxes, not in a motel. They'd still have
to put up with the burnt offerings though....

freezing fog and at least trying to do something challenging. You. Are
sat sniping from your comfy little office with little idea of the
difficulties we are facing. I suppose it was too much to expect that
you might actually cut us a bit of slack and show some support.

If that helps you lot, this weekend I was in a winter meeting at the
Pyrenees: There was a guy showing off with some Bavarian hat with the
Elefants logo. Until I started comenting about a bunch of "guiris locos" who
are off to Nordkapp... now. People applauded the idea, although they were a
    bit drunken, mind :)

Have a nice trip, find your limits and push them further.

So do I, but not enough to bother going through the hardship of actually
    doing it.
