I had the opportunity to experience the pleasure of directing an
American colleague to The Onions "Holy fucking Shit- America Attacked"
story from 2001, but only to find I can't access it.

Anyone know what the deal is?

No, that takes me to "America vows to Deafeat whoever we're at War", as
doe Chris's. I mean the one with the target site and the actual
headline as I posted. The Onion's search function itself returns "n/a".
I'm sure I'm being thick but that's no consolation.

Ok, I think I got it. Move on, nothing to see here.

That was *the* funniest piece the Onion ever did. A brief pause to show
suitable respect and then "Oh my God! I'm going to have to bake an
    apple pie"...

It's old as hell you know. But those links the others posted will take
you to where I wanted to get. You probably read it before.

It's the "US vows to defeat whoever..." story and the ones that follow.
"Holy Fucking Shit..." was never a headline to a story, just a graphic
that went along with the others if you get my drift.

  10. I'm quite taken by this one - just the right amount of bile.

The 'God Angrily Clarifies "Don't Kill" Rule' story was my favourite by
far. I usually find The Onion to be dull drivel but they did surpass
themselves with that "Holy Fucking Shit..." malarkey.

Barring some accident with a worm hole, memory loss and an enthusiastic

It can be a bit hit and miss, it's true. But then some stand out such
as "Chinese Woman Gives Birth to Sextuplets- Has One Week to Decide"
and "God Answers Paralyzed Boy's Prayers- Says No" plus the more recent
"Why Do All These Homosexuals Keep Sucking My Cock?"

and I quite like this week's podcast thingy of "Australia's 'The
Stingray Hunter' Says 'It Should Have Been Me'"

With the Diana-like mourning of Steve Irwin around here (and now some
guy called Peter Brock) I'm convinced.

That's a little harsh. Steve Irwin was nowhere near as pointless as Diana...
