Went to one of SWMBO's friends 40th BBQ last night.

Got chatting to a rather unassuming chap like you do.

Seems next month he's off on he's BMW GS from Alaska to the pointy bit at
    the bottom of South America.

It's going to take him about 4 months apparently, seems there's a group of
them going including some bloke who's name I can't rememner (Kevin
something?) who's a record holder for going some other long distance type
thing on a bike. Oh, and Charley Boorman figures in there somewhere too,
but I can't remember the full details.

Whilst generally discussing bikes, seems he also has 2 MV's, 2 Bimota's, and
his wife has a limited edition Zephyr 750 (the one with the spoked wheels).

Made an otherwise potentially dull evening very enjoyable.

Sometime around Sun, 12 Jun 2005 08:32:47 +0100, Dan L babbled on about:
That would be Kevin Sanders, he and Julia are the couple that did 19,000
miles in 19 days (he on the back) on a BMW a couple of years ago they have
a few other records as well. They are the leaders of the North South
Americas trip, I have a feeling it was GBP20k+ to do the trip.
