I went on a French trip wearing one from each of the two pairs of bike
    boots I own.
I had the piss taken after I noticed and pointed it out to everyone.
Mine weren't even very similar but I didn't give a shit.

I'm glad it's not just me.

Both lose; fine. Both tight; fine. One of each; nightmare. A couple of
years ago, one of T's aunts bought me a big pack of socks for Christmas.
I was delighted. Especially as they were identical to a big pack of
socks I'd bought but a week earlier.

Until the next wash, when I discovered that T's aunt had bought socks
that were identical in every aspect apart from size...

    I didn't exactly keep it a secret did I?
    I like to think so.

Definitely not work safe. For anyone.

    heh.

But it was Zymurgy, not me, who mentioned Speedos. I was talking about
the 'trunk' things, that have a bit covering the top of each leg.

    <hangs head in smock shame>

Yeah, 'twas me. I always think as trunks=swimming trunks.
    Mmm, comfy.

I hate it when I forget i'm going on the bike somewhere and put on a
standard pair of boxers. Seriously uncomfortable as the seam attempts
to saw your scrotum in half.

Well, that was just plain incorrect though. You had a mirror image
    pair, not an identical pair.

I said 'just like', not 'identical'.

Some of us only have the one suit to worry about and it lives in its
own protective polythene sheath in between job interviews.

Socks, now, are a different kettle of cheese.

I've tried more than once to buy multiple pairs of the same colour,
the plan being that odd socks would be a thing of the past. Sadly, it
doesn't work that well. First, one gets bought socks. Second, the
things come from different batches and fade, as pairs, differently
over time. I have several pairs of well-used army socks that despite
all being olive green, are slightly different shades of olive green
and I can't bear to mix them.

    It's very vexing.

Not really. You had a similar pair.

Jesus is this what life's reduced to? Arguing about shoes on the
    internet.

In other news... I managed Heathrow to Bath in 1:04 this evening,
including dealing with traffic which I'm quite pleased with.
    Allegedly.
