I've been inside a glacier somewhere in the Alps where the ice had a
visible blue tint, despite being christ knows how thick.
There's a lake of some description near Maidstone(ish) which is bright
blue due to high concentrations of (I believe) copper sulphate dissolved
in the water. It has nothing to do with the colour of the sky, just down
    to dissolved compounds.

    What's yer point?

Well, this is rock "flour" or summat
I have to have a point, now?

This place is going to the dogs.

The point is that the water doesn't always reflect the sky, as
proposed by someone up there somewhere.

    I think.

I wish I'd known you were going to Port Augusta, I would have asked you
to stop there for a few minutes to give my ex-wife a kick or two in the
    ovaries.

    I wish I hadn't stopped at Port Augusta - it's a fucking hole.

Even the police who stopped me for speeding 20kms outside PA called it a
    hole.

    And they lived there.

Quite right too. If it's an aquifer, underground lake or indoor heated
swimming pool, then there won't be any sky to reflect. But your common
or garden lake or pond is going to reflect the sky to some extent, even
if other chemical or mineral colouring is taken into account.

But have you ever owned an off-white Morris Marina 1.3 coupe or an Ausin
    A35? You're just a lucky ****, you are.

People weren't discerning back in the 60's, they either drove A35's or they
were lucky and caught a bus:)
