I got taken into hospital by ambulance after collapsing at home in
severe pain at about 4am on Sunday morning. After a couple of bouts of
intense vomiting, tests and a scan showed a kidney stone was the cause
of the problem and I've been given an appointment to have it zapped so
I can then pass what's left naturally.

At 3pm today they let me go home and I'm just about to crawl into bed
    and have another sleep.

For Mr Sweller's benefit, I have a lower age limit of 19 years old, so
some of the nurses were fair game :)

I trust they have given you donkey doses of painkillers. They gave me
pethidine injections when I had mine. Sort of worked, at least took the
edge off. Fortunately, mine shifted itself within 24 hours which was Xmas
    day in 1991.

    Good luck.

I'm drugged to the eyeballs, I couldn't give a ****. I had to sit here
for 10 minutes trying to work out what day it happened before I posted.

  11. I think I might get a scan done. Before I had my vasectomy several years
ago, the urologist said I had "a little sand" in my kidneys. Sounds like
it's worth making sure it doesn't go too far...

Yup, had that a couple of months ago. It certainly widens your outlook.

Odd that no-one's queuing up to put a claim in for the Versys if you
    die, isn't it?

    Ding.
But by that time I was so full of dope that it really did not matter.

The plastic was also feeling a tad sore at being hit for over 5000
