I'm trying to think about a new (to me) bike but I just can't find the right thing, so thought I'd ask at the font of all knowledge.. I want something to commute the 25 miles each way to work on, so good fuel economy would be useful.. All the bikes I've had except the K1200 had carbs, I'm guessing more modern FI is better. I don't want to have to take it to the dealer for expensive services, I can do that myself, hydraulic tappets and FI would be an advantage as you only tend to change consumables and greese things then. I don't really want a chain to mess about with.. I want to be able to put 100k miles on it. It's got to be cheap. My heart is telling me I want a Buell XB9SX, but I cant see that is at all practical. The bandit 600 I've got at the moment is well, er great for the job but it's probably getting on a bit now and I'm sure I can do better than 40mpg. Is there some nice 750 shaft with fuel injection that can do starship miles that's quite fun to ride? Any good ideas?
