The value of customer care

  1. Carole Nash have quoted me £165 renewal on the ZR-7. I had a mooch
round and Bennetts came out at £85 with Equity Red Star. Back to CN,
best they can do is £129 with the same co.

Now I know CN includes breakdown but I don't need it as my Britannia
policy covers all vehicles. I'm not really bothered about legal cover
either. However, I am bothered about good customer care and I've heard
bad stuff about Bennetts (on here I think).

So is customer care worth £40 a year?

I have also had sub-ton quotes from Devitt, Hastings and insure. I'd
appreciate it if anybody could provide feedback on those three.

All insurance companys are cunts, just take the cheapest quote :)

FWIW I'm with Bennetts, everything has happened as it should, but I've never
claimed with them so I can't comment on that aspect.

With Hastings a few years back and had good service from them.
Would use them again if they gave a cheaper quote.

    In
for 40 quid I'd go with CN .. Bennetts are aggressive, rude cnuts. My cost
to change would've been 150 quid otherwise I'd have moved to Hastings. When
renewal is due I will be moving my business!

I'd stick with CN. I've never had to claim through them but their
customer service has always been good.

    When I changed from a 9R to a 10R my previous underwriter wouldn't
offer cover so CN messed around sorting out new cover and refunded me
on my old policy pro-rata rather than me having to cancel it and lose
a shed load of money. They didn't have to do that and they also spent
a couple of days chasing my previous underwriters to find out why they
had such a downer on the 10R.

I wasn't impressed by the way they fucked me around with the 9r on
    renewal:

"You need an alarm for us to insure"

"I'm going away for a couple of weeks, can I get it fitted on my
    return?"

    "No"

"If it isn't fitted and the bike's stolen, I'm happy it's my problem"

    "We need it fitted"

    "Oh"

"If you booked with our fitting company that would be good enough"

"What if I booked with someone else's?"

    "No"

    "How much will it cost?"

Translation... "About 100 quid more than elsewhere"

    "Stick your policy"

    Cunts.

Not from Bennets. They tried to squeeze 120 quid more to renew my policy
than Swinton quoted and I've been with Bennets for years.

And it's not broker you need to think about, it's the insurer and as both
companies were offering cover from the same insco (Equity Red Star) it seems
like a cunts trick to try lightening existing customers wallets for nothing
    extra.

Book with their fitting company, insure, cancel appointment on your return.
    Who isn't?

  9. Wotcha.
Auntie Carole is playing silly buggers.
A chap in our club was quoted £ 289 when his insurance reminder came
    through.
Now this seemed a bit steep - and it had been going up for the last two
    years or so.
He tried another company, Whittesley, I believe it was, and they quoted him
    £ 116
    <<just looked - it's actually Whittlesey >>
    http://www.whittleseyinsurance.com/

So is customer care worth £ 173 a year ?

This is the third fellow in our club who has dropped CN because of
    ridiculous price increases.
I can see me being the fourth, the way things are going.

Fair enough in principle but they wanted paying up front. I ended up
going to mitchell and partners who have been good ever since.
Mitchell and Partners, Altberg and probably one or two others.

They did the same for me, and even found an insurer that didn't insist
    on a f*cking datatool alarm.

I didn't need one. The built-in kawasaki immobiliser circuit is good
enough for whatever polcy I'm now on.

    Hooray.

Apparently I no longer need the datatool because of the Kawasaki
immobiliser but over 2 years ago that wasn't the case.

I'll be leaving it on now it's there because it'd be a waste of money
paying someone to remove it and some places do give a discount for
    having it.
