Oh, is it over now? Does that mean it's safe to turn on the TV now[1]?

  4. Is what over?

Only if they stop broadcasting all the ultra high frequently mind control
    signals.

You poor deluded bastard- that's just to distract you. The real mind control
is all done via ELF waves.

I've been pleasantly distracted, prepping kedgeree for 70 for a vehement
republican's 88th birthday party tonight. It's one of his favourite
dishes, so I'm doing it as the starter.

  8. Apart from endless 'highlight' repeats, yes.
I must've seen a total of five minutes, but that was only because I was
fiddling around with the HD sat card and it was fucking everywhere.

I just sat down to watch the BBC News figuring that having had 5 hours
of wedding coverage right before it, there might actually be some
    news.

But no, it's been a 20 minute recap. Has nothing else happened in the
    world today?

  10. Well I went to the supermarket earlier and it was bliss - hardly anyone
there. It's definitely news for supermarket shopping to be bliss.

The Shinkansen from Tokyo to north east Japan has restarted full service
today after the earthquake and tsunami. Not bad going to get 500km of
damaged track and infrastructure back into working order after only 2
months. It's not back at full capacity but a good effort nonetheless in
    fraught circumstances.

    Well you did ask! ;-)

    Brill, thanks for the update.

For the record, I finished off jet-washing the patio, cleaned the car,
and set my son's bike up for his 2nd birthday on Monday. And watched
    an episode of Alias.

Only if you hit the red button. Although the BBC West news has just
been on, & the lead story was the great unwashed anti-capitalist
fuckwits in Bristol[1] continuing their whinge fest, rather than the
    wedding.

[1] Quite why they choose to live in a capitalist country when they're
obviously so against it is beyond me.

We took the time to drive up to Stockton on Tees with the caravan and
were blessed with m ostly empty roads.

Set the caravan up and watched some brilliant snooker ... news is Ding

  19. I spent the morning ite and abite, the early arvo fiddling with lunch
and the rest of the day with some angle-grinder and MIG action. A
trailer is arising from the dead...

  20. As explained, it was only while setting up and fiddlin with the sat
card, in search of good HD. Wedding or no, I was reasonably impressed
with the detail of the Abbey and the Great'nGood sitting therein. My
word, some of them are right ugly/wrinkly fuckers.
