Man O Man 80 give or take degrees today. That wingman RedShad and the old timer in Irving were going East to Sulfur Springs for the ride and to purchase some new jeans etc right off the spindle. I had the tank and side panel off my Voyager wiring in a 12volt outlet when I got the word it was time. I quickened, double checked, had power, here I go. I had a 60 miles run to meet up with those boys and had just settled in on the eyestate when I noticed NO cruise. Oops forget to hook that back up. I decided to rough it and keep going. Filled'em up at the meetup and off we went to Sulfur Springs. At the clothing store Walker bought and talked, RedShad bought and listened, I was the lookout. After the discount lunch we saw a Yamaha Venture out front of a motorcycle shop for sale and checked it out. 2004 for 7000 bucks w/30,000 miles. We didn't buy it account not liking the optional cracks in the faring. I recently had the leak in the Voyager rear-end repaired (2nd) and one of the reason I wanted to make the ride was to see if it would leak after heating up. We run pretty fast out on that big highway and after approx 120 miles I checked and I got oil leaking again. So I'll take that back to the shop tomorrow. Talk about running fast, we ran so fast I ran off and left my cell phone. I think the wind sucked it out of my pocket. Whoever's number I had I now don't; would you please email your numbers for my next phone. Next mentionable event was Walker run all the air out of his rear tire. RedShad, who isn't the tire expert I am, suggested the tube had dry rotted from the old timer staying holed up all winter. It was a tubeless type tire with a tube but the valve stem was separated from the tube. We blocked under the bike to get all the weight off the tire and were able to get the bead to seal enough to hold air although it was leaking around the spokes. We were 9 miles from the Rockwall Honda shop and were hoping they were still open, otherwise it was Walker 2up with me. I figured he could just make the shop with air rate of escape. Well we get to the exit and its closed for construction. Next exit was about a mile, then you had to loop around and loop around to get to the shop. That is unless you go the wrong way on the service road, which everybody did except RedShad and me. Even though it was a Honda shop they had a Kawasaki inner tube and we got fixed up. All that put us later than planned and it was dark by the time we got into Dallas. We stayed on I30 right on through, using our turn signals, they look cool at night. I got to Cowtown about mid-AmericanIdol, pretty lucky huh. I hate losing the phone account losing all the numbers, but we got real lucky on the timing and location of that flat, and no injuries. I had that fun we talk about ....louie
