There was a Tuesday ride!

Man O Man 80 give or take degrees today. That wingman RedShad and the old
timer in Irving were going East to Sulfur Springs for the ride and to
purchase some new jeans etc right off the spindle. I had the tank and side
panel off my Voyager wiring in a 12volt outlet when I got the word it was
    time.
I quickened, double checked, had power, here I go. I had a 60 miles run to
meet up with those boys and had just settled in on the eyestate when I
noticed NO cruise. Oops forget to hook that back up. I decided to rough it
and keep going. Filled'em up at the meetup and off we went to Sulfur
Springs. At the clothing store Walker bought and talked, RedShad bought and
listened, I was the lookout. After the discount lunch we saw a Yamaha
Venture out front of a motorcycle shop for sale and checked it out. 2004 for
7000 bucks w/30,000 miles. We didn't buy it account not liking the optional
    cracks in the faring.

I recently had the leak in the Voyager rear-end repaired (2nd) and one of
the reason I wanted to make the ride was to see if it would leak after
heating up. We run pretty fast out on that big highway and after approx 120
miles I checked and I got oil leaking again. So I'll take that back to the
    shop tomorrow.

Talk about running fast, we ran so fast I ran off and left my cell phone. I
think the wind sucked it out of my pocket. Whoever's number I had I now
don't; would you please email your numbers for my next phone.

Next mentionable event was Walker run all the air out of his rear tire.
RedShad, who isn't the tire expert I am, suggested the tube had dry rotted
from the old timer staying holed up all winter. It was a tubeless type tire
with a tube but the valve stem was separated from the tube. We blocked under
the bike to get all the weight off the tire and were able to get the bead to
seal enough to hold air although it was leaking around the spokes. We were 9
miles from the Rockwall Honda shop and were hoping they were still open,
otherwise it was Walker 2up with me. I figured he could just make the shop
with air rate of escape. Well we get to the exit and its closed for
construction. Next exit was about a mile, then you had to loop around and
loop around to get to the shop. That is unless you go the wrong way on the
service road, which everybody did except RedShad and me. Even though it was
a Honda shop they had a Kawasaki inner tube and we got fixed up.

All that put us later than planned and it was dark by the time we got into
Dallas. We stayed on I30 right on through, using our turn signals, they look
cool at night. I got to Cowtown about mid-AmericanIdol, pretty lucky huh.

I hate losing the phone account losing all the numbers, but we got real
lucky on the timing and location of that flat, and no injuries.

I had that fun we talk about

Being on the receiving end of that damned flat wasn't the most pleasant of
my experiences of the day, but someone pointed out .. no one got hurt or
anything and with a lot of help from my loyal companions, we managed to
crip that Green Vulcan into a Honda dealership for repair..

hmmm.. Someone should really do something about the nails, studs and
other piercing debris that is laying around highway construction areas..
    That
stuff is hard on tires.. Surprisingly, no one has brought this very
    dangerous
issue to the attention of our legislators in Austin.. Maybe, I need to get
    down
there to see about an amendment to one of the other motorcycle related Bills
    that are on the agenda..

Good ride report, Louie.. right on the money.. In spite of the freakin' flat
    tire..
I thoroughly enjoyed the day.. not to mention getting some new jeans to cov-
er my ass for the remainder of the cold weather..

So, you got to hear and see 6 (1/2) of the American Idol guys sing.
    That is pretty good.

    Tonight the gals try out.

So Red-shad, just happened to have an ample supply
of that tube sealer spray stuff, to air up Walker, in order for him to
limp on to the honda store?

That was some dern good luck.

Redshad didnt have anything to air up that tire. We got air from the
truck stop air supply hose. We aired it up and he rode like a bat out
of hell to get to the Honda store before it went flat again. I know
thats a shocker since he never rides like a bat out of hell.

I still say the same gremlins who syphoned his gas also stole that
    tube!

He better make sure he has everything he needs for that Mexico ride, I
hear those gremlins will take more than they need....

RedShad didn't have shit. No tools, rags, sealer, hell he don't need it,
    he's a winger.

I guess I'm not giving him enough credit. He was a few miles into reserve
and running low on the tire and made it just in time. I mean it beats
needing gas and not having a flat (for bjay). He's obstacle grouping.

Hold up now..I did have some tools. My Honda bike came with tools but
I aint sure they will fit a Kawasaki. It worked out good anyways. I
was glad we could get air into that tire. I only have 8000 more
pictures I can take on my memory card and I was planning on using
about half of those taking Walkers picture 2-up on your bike..lol.

Alright now.. I have to put up with all this abuse when I am on the road
with you turkeys, but I damn sure don't need to tolerate it on usenet..

It has recently come to my attention that all this flat tire business is all
Wakko's fault.. There have been quite a few unexplained mishaps, over
the past few years that can also be traced back to the Big Guy.. Such
as pistols being found in my saddlebags and so on..

Back to the flat tire business.. it should be pointed out, that I was pro-
ceeding in a southerly direction on I-35.. carefully observing all the
laws of the state and in complete compliance with speed limits, etc.
The Green Vulcan was performing flawlessly and the ride had been
totally enjoyable.. Then, I noticed that the rear end was walking around
a bit .. Due to the vast experience in motorcycling, I immediately real-
ized that my rear tire was rapidly losing air.. After carefully checking
our location and proximity of the next available services, I then exer-
cized all the skills and expertise from the many years of riding.. to
make it to that refuge.. I'll have to admit that it was close and I'd had
to command all those motorcycling skills in order to get into the truck
stop.. As .. has been pointed out, gasolene had also been a contribut-
ing factor in this stop.. I'd switched on reserve quite a distance before
noticing the erratic wobbling of the Green One's rear tire..

Anyway, due to the exemplary bike handling skills and expertise.. the
Green Vulcan was navigated safely into that truck stop and with con-
siderable assistance from my loyal companions, we managed to get
that tire to hold enough air for me to proceed to the closest friendly
Honda dealership for repair.. Of course, it should also be pointed out
that all those remarkable skills and expertise were exercised during
that final leg of the journey.. Also.. all the laws of the state were res-
pected during this part of the trip.. After all.. safety was the uppermost
concern to me.. Pushing that damned motorcycle had not been in my
    plans of the day..

Now that I've been reminded of so many unexplained events that were
previously attributed to highway gremlins and such.. Wakko's culpability
is without doubt.. So.. it should be noted that I'll be vigilant and keep my
eye on this shady character, hereafter.. ROTFL.. Regards

LOL...What a well though out and written piece..LOL @ All of the laws
of the state were respected...You crack me up...lol. I must have
missed those 100 mph signs and I also must have missed the WRONG WAY
sign when you went down that service road...Damn...LOL.

Those kinds of insinuations and accusations are prime examples of the kinds
of abuse that I have been subjected to .. It is common knowledge that the
Green Vulcan isn't designed to run that fast .. Those are the kinds of
    rumors
that are extremely damaging to one's reputation and I take offense to them..

In all fairness.. you have to admit.. my superior riding skills and
    excellent motor-
cycle handling abilities make all safety precautions a necessity.. Besides
    all that
I lost my favorite cap during all the acrobatics that were taking place..

I have to say that when you picked up the rear end of that Green Vulcan for
    Louie
to slide that box under it, I was duly impressed.. especially when you had
    to lift
it one more time for him to slide the two by four under there.. Many thanks
    to you
    both..

I was just getting back for you causing me to dump my bike in a gravel
parking lot, losing sight of Buddy and having him get lost, and running out
of gas miles from the nearest town.

    Who can blame me?

I'm sure you are involved somehow with my lack of social graces, bad
hygiene, and my poor Spanish language skills.

I know Magda likes me, but Mouse feels the same way I do about *you*, so you
    are outnumbered.

likes everybody.. On the other hand.. if you'll just be patient, you may be
    lucky
enough to grow up to be just like me.. <grumble.. grumble> Damned Repub-

Don't pay any attention to Wakko.. Next thing you know, he'll be bad
    mouthing
that motel we stayed at in Torreon.. If he'd quit trying to run that old
    Harley 400
miles on a tank of gas, he wouldn't have all those side of the road
    experiences..

Yup.. the truth is finally coming out on that guy.. All this stuff is
    definitely his
    fault..

    I heard that.
Shoot, why would he wanna waste trunk space, with such as that, when he
rides a Honda, and a GW at that.
But he really should consider others, since he has all that luggage
