There will be a 'small' increase in greenslip prices (NSW)

SO the ads say.

SO I punched in the details for a policy starting 1-aug-2006 (before
'small' increase) and also for 1-oct-2006 (after 'small' increase).

I seems the online calculator hasn't go updated prices for my current
insurer (NRMA) (goes from $361.90 to $679 unless NRMA is doing the AAMI
trick of getting out of issuing green slips for bikes (make the price
huge so people go elseware!). The comparison however that does appear
valid is GIO. Gone from $374.79 to $412.52. $37.73 increase (9% increase).

(For giggles I punched in a 1994 Holden and the prices (GIO) are
1-aug-2006 ($340.70) 1-oct-2006 ($360.73) Increase of $20.03 (increase
of 9%).

You can come to your own conclusions on the above! I can however predict
that when pollies are questioned they will use the increase PERCENTAGE
to justify the 'fairness' applied across the board!
