Today seems to have brought more than a bit of sunshine and blue
skies, it's brought a letter from Germany...

Regular followers will remember that certain posters had a bit of an
issue with the German police regarding failure to keep to the speed
limits. Now I'm not that good at reading German even when I think it's
something I actually give a **** about so I'll not bother trying to
get this one translated but I'll let the masses have a vote on what we
think they're trying to tell me.

Vote A) if you think they've realised it was the others who were
riding like cunts and they want to give me back my cash.

Vote B) if you think they'd like even more of my money because they're
skint and want to boost the economy a bit.

Vote C) if you thing it's just that they want to tell me they're not
going to give me any hassle if I go back to Germany.

Steve's post was about the nicking in Switzerland, to which Andy wasn't
    a party.

No mention of money but I suspect points and/or a ban.

The only good thing is that both times a bike gets mentioned in the
    letter it isn't mine :)

Just bung it back in the envelope and write across it "We won the war -
communicate in English or we'll do it again". Should make them realise
that you're not a man to be trifled with.

Well, looking at the title, and the fact those two sound remarkably
like giving up, I'd have to say...
I found 10 Deutchmarks in a drawer the other day, if you want to send
    them that.

    Good idea.

Would it be easier if I just posted the email address given on the
letter and added that it was a Herr Gohring who was trying to contact
me then you can deal with it when you get a spare minute or two?

**** it, print up a couple of photographs from this site and send them back
    stapled to the document
    www.holocaust-history.org/~dkeren/camps/belsen

Write a small note in English saying you had trouble translating but asking
if this is what they are suggesting. Again.

Posting the email address sounds just the ticket. Put it in as many
newsgrups (typo left in) as you can.

I think the line below that suggests that we may have 3 points on our
licences but that's not an issue afaic. It looks as if it went to
court on the 27th Oct. and they might just have confirmed the fine
plus added the points as an additional punishment.

I could scan the letter and feed it through a translation site later
on but I'm not sure that I can be bothered.

I've got a German translator on stand-by if needed. Nothing turned up
here yet, but I only seem to get post once every few days so no suprise
    there.

Yes, or total demand. I'd guess your interpretation is correct.

Jesus, the story-telling value of that trip just keeps growing and
    growing, doesn't it.

Alas, living in London, we have no functioning postal service at the
moment, strikes or not, so there was nothing in the box this morning.
I'll have to wait til I'm back home again before I find out what I've
been issued by the Balingen Gestaltpolizei fruit machine.

    Yeah, I think it's great.

I don't know how we'll ever be able to top it but that doesn't mean we
shouldn't try. Are you sure you don't want to come away with us in
February when we take on at least three more police forces in the
ongoing battle of ukrm against the forces of evil?
I think you'll be getting one soon enough so don't feel neglected.
