  2. I think you may be wrong. One of the most common reasons I have heard for
the purchase of a satnav is an inability to use a map. Which I naturally
interpret as an inabiltiy to make the effort to learn. Although now I
would suggest a more common but rarely stated truth would be that they
have the credit and it is fashionable.

Have you read "Elephants on acid"? Full of mad as a hatter experiments done
in the interests of "Wtf" including The Milgram Experiment.

When I lived in Harrow there were a number of times I had to ask people
to move their cars as they were on my drive and blocking the garage.

And they still had the temerity to get all narked, as if I was the one
in the wrong for putting my garage there.

It is the standard way in the Army - I still do it. Its intuitive and
    works well for me.

Heh, I doubt it. My father didn't have a clue and my mother wouldn't
even try to map-read for him.

I learnt to read maps at an early age though and still do ..

In my defense I was completely cunted, and of course the spell checker
    wasn't helping.

And to answer your question, no, 1.0.

  15. I've never done that. Mind you, it does make sense of sorts, but I've
never felt the need to do it.

Had a bloke like that here. Tore up the polite notes under his wipers.

Eventually I found out who it was, and he wasn't having any of it being
    in the wrong.

    He could park there because
    1) There was nowhere else convenient
    2) He never saw me use the garage.

    I eventually persuaded him, though.

  18. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Catman
There's a tosser who each evening parks on the pavement[1] between my
    place and the pigs' field.

My feed bucket's getting quite dented...

[1] Quite why is a complete mystery to me. The road is a perfectly
    normal width.
