    "Lords to rule on speeding warning

    The case of a lorry driver who waved to warn motorists of a speed trap
    is to be heard in the House of Lords.

    The High Court previously ruled he was not guilty of obstructing
    officers in the execution of their duty."

    Fucking cunts, they get more like the Gestapo every day.

    It's bloody insanity. To nick someone for advising people to obey the
    law?

    The logical inference if he's nicked is that the police *want* people
    to break the law.

    It's almost as if minor speeding offences are being used as a extra
    revenue stream. But they wouldn't do something that, would they? Surely
    not.

    Dunno about anyone else, but I *always* flash my lights and/or
    gesticulate at oncoming traffic after going past a speed trap ever since
    someone provided the same service to me near Redhill a few years ago and
    *definitely* saved me three points and a fine.

    Weeelll, I can see three possible ways of looking at it:

    1) the particular oncoming traffic he was waving at wasn't speeding,
    so wasn't breaking the law, thus all he was doing was telling them to
    keep not breaking the law;

    2) the oncoming traffic was speeding, so I suppose the argument could
    be that they're already guilty and must be punished, so any attempt to
    deny Hairdryer Man his kill is in effect obstructing etc.;

    3) Whoever brought the prosecution is a ****.

    Given that proving the difference between 1) and 2) would be very
    difficult, I'd plump for 3) myself.

  7. It used to be the case that if an approaching RAC or AA chappie, riding his
    sidecar outfit, DIDN'T salute oncoming members it was a signal [but not a
    *signal*, IYSWIM, to thwart prosecution] that there was a speed-trap up
    ahead.
